1. What is The Amanuensis?
Brief summary: handwritten AI-generated (or user-submitted) letters, mailed as real artifacts.
2. Do you ship internationally?
Yes, letters are mailed anywhere regular international post reaches.
3. Can I choose the stationery?
Not for now—stationery is chosen by the Amanuensis, depending on your letter’s vibe and what’s available. (Requests considered for future updates.)
4. Will you ship cards or other paper goods?
Not at launch; only letters. (May expand if enough people request.)
5. What languages do you support?
English, Chinese (traditional & simplified), French, Spanish. Other languages by special request, if the Amanuensis can copy them.
6. Why is there a word limit?
Handwriting takes time, and the physical paper can only hold so much. 250 words for standard letters, keeps things both readable and physically manageable.
7. How will I know my letter has been sent?
Before mailing, you’ll receive a photo of the addressed envelope by email.
8. What kind of mail do you use?
Only regular mail (no registered/tracked), to preserve privacy and minimize cost.
9. How long will delivery take?
Usually within 2 weeks internationally, but postal delays may happen—this is part of the charm (and the risk).
10. How do I pay for my letter?
After you submit your order form, you’ll receive a confirmation email if your order is accepted. This email will include a secure payment link and instructions. No payment is required until your order is confirmed.
11. Why is payment separate from the order form?
Each letter is reviewed individually before payment is requested. This protects both you and the Amanuensis: your order won’t be charged unless it’s accepted, and you won’t have to worry about refunds if your letter isn’t eligible.
12. What payment methods do you accept?
You’ll receive a payment link for secure online payment (currently via Stripe). If you need a different method, reply to your confirmation email and we’ll try to accommodate.
13. Is my payment information safe?
All payments are processed securely by a trusted third-party provider (currently Stripe). The Amanuensis never sees or stores your payment details.
14. Can I get a refund if my letter is lost or late?
No compensation for postal delays or loss.
15. Can I order recurring/penpal letters?
Ongoing penpal relationships are possible—just mention your interest when ordering, and the Amanuensis will coordinate details.
16. Will my data/letter be used for anything else?
No—see Privacy Policy. Content is deleted after mailing unless you consent otherwise.
17. Is this just for AI, or can I send my own words?
You can submit your own letter or use your AI’s words—either way, it’s handwritten and mailed by a real human.
